Understanding all the Menus and Options

Now, we will go through the Menu of Anti-Theft. On the top, we have " Issues ".

Issues:

      You will face following issues,

• Settings Warning

• Android Version Information

• System Settings Warning ( Installation of apps from unknown resources)

• System Settings Warning ( Not connected to any Avast web account)

Owner

 This section enables you to enter the name of the owner of the device. For Example " Androidious ".

Avast PIN

• Avast Pin (You can change your Avast PIN here)
• Recovery Phone Number (Use this option for changing the recovery phone number)

Friends

• First Friend " +92340XXXXXXX "
• Second Friend "+92310XXXXXX"
• Enable Support for Android 4.4 (This will enable Avast Anti-Theft to send invisible binary messages)
• Only Allow Friend SMS Commands (Enable this option if you only want to control your device from friend's phone)

Avast Account

• Avast Web Account
• Send SMS to Avast (Enabling this option will send SIM Card change notification to Avast servers

Advanced Settings

Protection Behavior

• Lock the Phone (This will lock the phone when sim card will be changed)
• Sound Siren (Sound Siren when phone is locked)
• Deny Program Manager Access (Prevents unwanted users from uninstalling apps)
• Deny Phone Setting Access (Denies access to whole settings)
• Prevent USB Debugging (This will prevent the user from connecting your device storage to Computer)
• Force Data Connection On (Avast will force data connection to stay on)
• Low Battery Notification (Send low battery notification to Avast account. This step requires Avast account)

Lock Text, GPS, Wipe

• Custom Lock Text (Text that will be shown on locked screen)
• Thorough Wipe (This will write junk Data on SD Card)
• Device Admin (Make Anti-Theft the device admin so that it can reset your device anytime anywhere)

Geofencing

                      The term " Geofencing " is used for a virtual boundary. This boundary can be your home, college or any hotel.

• Geofencing Radius (Select the desired radius e.g 20 meters, 50 meters or up to 50 kilometers)
• SMS Notification(Turn on the SMS notification. Your friend will be notified when your Geofencing rules are violated)
• Tap on Turn on Geofencing.

How Geofencing Works

                    Suppose, you visit any hotel and the " Geofencing " is turned on. Someone else gets access to your phone and try to move out of that hotel without turning off " Geofencing ". When he will move out of the defined radius Avast Anti-Theft will send an SMS to your friend's phone number.

Password Check

                  If any person enters the wrong lock screen password three times Avast Ant-Theft will consider the device as lost and all the Protection Shields are turned on. All the functions in Password Check menu require premium version. You can easily buy the premium version from Playstore.

                 All the given options will be activated whenever the " Password Check " is violated.

• Enable Mark as Lost
• Send notification to friend's phone number
• Take picture of the person trying to access your phone using front camera
